On the 5th May, divas everywhere headed for Thursgays at Revolution Reading, who held a diva-licios Diva themed fund-raising night. The lucky winner of the 'best dressed' competition won a bottle of wine and had access to a VIP table for the evening, in addition to VIP entry at Reading Pride this year!
The Granby also hosted a fabulous night of entertainment with a Burlesque fundraiser on the 22nd April. Boasting pole dancing from Purity Pole, some great DJing from DJ WildKat and DJ Lil-Puff, as well as Wilma Fingadoo!
Altogether, these events helped to raise £207.66; a massive help towards Pride overcoming the loss of two key sponsors this year. A LOUD thank you to Thursgays, The Granby and everyone who made these nights memorable.
But that's not it! We have some more great events for you to look forward to this summer, so get your diaries ready...
Make your way down to Rivermead at 12pm for a lovely, lazy, Sunday 'Pink Picnic' on June 26th. Bring some picnic treats and enjoy eating al fresco with friends, children, loved ones and new faces alike. All ages are welcome to join in the fun and games!
The Granby will also be hosting another spectacular fundraising night on Thursday 30th July, so keep this date free. Details to be confirmed.
Reading Pride would also like to thank Penta Hotel for their ongoing support this year. Penta have been fantastically accommodating, providing us with conference rooms for our committee meetings for the past two years running.
We look forward to Penta's continued support and are proud to have them as a sponsor of Reading Pride!
To donate to the organisation, please press the 'Donate Today' button on the Reading Pride website or alternatively you can text "LGBT00 + your donation" to 70070 (standard network charges apply). All your donations, however big or small, are crucial to continuing our tireless involvement with community projects and raising awareness of important issues surrounding the LGBT community. Donations may also take the form of goods in kind or advise on ways for the charity to save costs. Thank you.
