Finance Manager
The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in the financial management of Reading Pride. This position is responsible for overseeing financial aspects of the organisation alongside trustees, ensuring financial stability, and providing strategic financial advice to the management team. They work to ensure that processes are followed when signing off invoices, reviewing budgets with the team and reporting income / expenditure back to Trustees.
There will be one Marketing Manager on the Committee working with the Trustee Financial Officer. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Ensure the Operations team create a meaningful and realistic budget and keep this updated
- Review and ensure updated financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of annual financial statements with Trustees.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions.
- Oversee the procurement process, ensuring value for money and compliance with procurement policies.
- Work closely with the Sponsorship Managers and Operations team to track income and expenditure.
- Provide financial advice and support to the management team and Board of Trustees.
Skills you might have
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant experience.
- Strong financial management and analysis skills.
- Experience in budget development and control.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in financial software packages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Marketing Manager
To pro-actively manage the marketing of Reading Pride throughout the year and maximise awareness, attendance and income from marketing activities associated with Pride Parade & Festival. Working with our Chief Engagement Officer and our Social Media Manager, as well as our Sponsorship Manager to maximise our partnerships with existing organisations and set budgets for campaigns and advertising
There will be one Marketing Manager on the Committee working with the Chief Engagement Officer. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
Identify and pursue, through review and strategic planning, in conjunction with all key teams & stakeholders, all marketing requirements to ensure maximum exposure and resultant benefits for Reading Pride throughout the year.
- Help create timely and effective communications across all platforms in support of Pride activities throughout the year and in support of the Pride Parade & Festival.
- In conjunction with the Finance Manager, agree the annual budget for the Marketing team and ensure compliance with this budget throughout the year, escalating any requirement for amendment appropriately.
- Pro-actively contact organisations across the media industry to ensure maximisation of opportunities for publicity, exposure and income from media relationships.
- Ensure that robust contractual arrangements are in place with media suppliers and that these are monitored for value.
- In conjunction with the Funding team, pro-actively engage with the business community, both locally and nationally to maximise opportunities for exposure.
- Working with the Sponsorship Manager and Chief Engagement Officers to ensure that opportunities are maximised for support of goods / services in kind to minimise costs.
- In conjunction with the Operations and Parade teams, ensure that all opportunities for marketing exposure / income are maximised throughout the Pride Parade and Festival.
- In conjunction with the Chief Engagement Officer, ensure that opportunities are maximised for exposure within venues / community groups and organisations.

Operations Manager
To pro-actively manage procurement of goods and services required for Reading Pride operations, including the Pride Parade & Festival, ensuring best available value for money and contractual arrangements. In conjunction with the Chief Operations Officer, oversee the Operations team throughout the year as well as taking an active role throughout the period of site build and take down.
There will be two Operations Managers on the Committee, sharing the responsibilities between them and the Chief Operations Officer. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Identify, through review and strategic planning, in conjunction with the Parade and other teams, all key procurement requirements for the Pride Parade and Festival.
- In conjunction with the Operations team, agree the annual budget for the Operations team and ensure compliance with this budget throughout the year.
- Proactively contact suppliers to obtain best possible quotes for Pride requirements, preparing comparative quotes along best business practices for presentation to and review by the Operations team and relevant Committee members.
- In accordance with financial management procedures and best practice, ensure that robust contractual arrangements are in place with all suppliers and that these are monitored for compliance throughout, authorising payment according to financial management procedures.
- In conjunction with the Funding and Marketing teams, ensure that opportunities are maximised for support of goods / services in kind to minimise costs.
- Ensure that all suppliers comply with relevant licensing, insurance and other restrictions and that all relevant documentation is provided in a timely manner.
- In conjunction with the Operations team provide leadership and co-ordination throughout the period of site operations.

Graphic Designer
Reading Pride is a dedicated organization committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community. We are seeking a talented and passionate Graphics Designer to join our team. The Graphics Designer will help us create visually compelling and impactful designs for our on-site materials, from signs and posters to cups and website graphics. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our identity across various platforms, reflecting the colours of Pride and our values. You’ll be working with most of our committee members, supporting their roles as required, and around your available time.
There will be two Graphic Designers on the Committee, sharing the responsibilities between them. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Develop creative concepts and designs for a variety of marketing materials, including social media graphics, posters, flyers, brochures, signage and digital advertisements.
- Ensure consistency in design elements and follow our brand guidelines whilst also helping to improve them.
- Create engaging visuals for our website and other digital platforms.
- Design materials for Pride and Pre Pride events, such as banners, stage designs, and merchandise.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop effective design solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with design trends and industry best practices, particularly around accessibility.
Skills you might have
- Some experience as a graphic designer with a portfolio demonstrating a variety of design styles.
- Proficiency in some of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and / or Canva.
- A good understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.

An Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion representative will be helping Reading Pride to create a safe, diverse and inclusive environment for committee members and the community itself when holding events. They play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to advance EDI within our organisation and the wider community.
There will be one Equality, Diversity and Inclusion representative on the Committee. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Help us to research and develop high quality EDI policies for Reading Pride and ensure that our policies and procedures are as inclusive as possible.
- Have regular discussions with committee members to identify areas for improvement and help them develop action plans and ideas to tackle them.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and stakeholders to create partnerships.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Reading Pride’s EDI strategy.

Committee Welfare Officer
The Committee Welfare Officer plays an important role in ensuring the wellbeing and support of all committee members within Reading Pride. The role helps us to foster a positive and inclusive committee environment by arranging social events for committee members, working with our leadership team and Trustees to support our policies, and, helping Trustees to address welfare concerns.
There will be one Committee Welfare representative on the Committee. Reading Pride generally has around 20 committee members and 7 Trustees.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Provide a confidential listening ear for committee members experiencing personal or professional challenges.
- Offer support and guidance, directing members to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Create a safe and supportive environment where committee members feel comfortable sharing their concerns.
- Promote mental health awareness within the committee and sharing helpful information.
- Help the committee members and Trustees to reduce stress and burnout among committee members.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork among committee members.
- Offer guidance on committee roles and responsibilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all committee members’ personal information.

Sponsorship Manager
Volunteering as our Sponsorship Manager puts you at the heart of our fundraising efforts, helping to attract and have conversations with local organisations and businesses who share the LGBTQIA+ values of Reading Pride. The job entails helping to create the Sponsorship packages for the main areas of Reading Pride and then sending this on to interested local groups and organisations. It then involves discussing packages and how Reading Pride and My Umbrella can help enhance the companies values and LGBTQIA+ representation.
There will be two Sponsorship Managers on the Committee, sharing the responsibilities between them. Reading Pride generally has around 10 sponsors, alongside a further 20 organisations which often donate to Reading Pride, donate services at cost or for free.
Your role will involve the delegated responsibilities of:
- Drafting the sponsorship packages for the areas (eg Main Stage, Family Area, Pride Wilde etc) in conjunction with the CEO
- Helping to inform the design of the document which is sent to potential sponsors
- Collating the details of potential sponsors from other members of the committee and local networking events
- Liaising with sponsors by phone and email as they show interest
- Confirming arrangements with sponsors and agreeing packages with them
- Handing over sponsor requirements to area leads to fulfil, whilst ensuring the delivery of sponsorship benefits as outlined in sponsorship agreements
- Maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and providing them with regular updates
- Collaborating with our marketing and social media teams to promote Reading Pride and its sponsorship opportunities
