How much does Reading Pride cost to attend?
Reading Pride is a donation entry festival and parade. All donations of £5 or what you can afford are gratefully accepted. Other attractions on site may charge a fee, but general admission is free
Why do we ask for donations?
Reading Pride costs over £110,000 to put on and is entirely run by volunteers – with no government funding. We want to keep it as accessible as possible. If you can afford to donate the £5 on entry, please do. You’ll receive a wristband to show you have supported Reading Pride this year and every donations makes sure we can come back each and every year.
How accessible is Reading Pride?
Each year, Reading Pride prioritises accessibility, ensuring that the festival is inclusive for everyone. Thanks to the support of CGI, we are pleased to provide a BSL interpreter who will be available all day on the Main Stage.
The parade route and festival site is level and we ensure step free access as well as an accessible viewing area for Main Stage. Additionally, we have several safe spaces available throughout Reading Pride for everyone’s comfort.
There is a separate Accessible entrance signposted to reduce queueing.
We also have assisted toilets provided by Accessoloo, located near to the Pride aLive Colours and Fires stage which includes baby changing facilities.

I am disabled, is there parking on-site?
Yes, we have limited on-site parking for blue-badge holders. This is available next to the site, please follow the signs for our Eastern entrance off Napier Road and display your blue badge on parking.
How can I avoid queuing on entry?
For your safety and ours, we operate a bag check on entry. If you don’t need to bring a bag, you can use our bagless entry queue which will move quicker. You can also purchase a Fast Pass queue jump ticket which will allow you to use our special Fast Pass entry lane. These can be purchased from the Blagrave, Oakford or online.
Is there an After Party?
There is no official After Party but there are a number of post-pride events going on. Checkout our Pride Week page for more information.
Do I require a ticket to enter the festival?
No the Reading Pride Festival is donation entry, all we ask for is a donation of around £5 on the way in, or what you can afford. You can purchase tickets for our Pride Plus area.
What do you get in PridePlus ?
PridePlus offers covered seating, dedicated bar service, unrivalled views of the stage and much more – look out for more details here.
When I can book tickets for PridePlus ?
Tickets for PridePlus will be available for sale in the run-up to the event, sign-up for our newsletter and check our social media for updates as the big day approaches.
What should I wear?
It is important that you do wear something, as this is a family event but otherwise wear what you like! It is difficult to predict the weather, but we suggest comfortable clothing and if you wish to dress according to our theme then this is encouraged.

Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome on site. However, the event can be noisy and there is limited shelter, so discretion is advised.
Are there any age restricted areas?
The sale of alcohol is strictly over 18s and we operate a think 25 policy.
PridePlus is for over 18’s only.
Can I bring my children?
Yes, we are a family friendly event and encourage everyone to come along. We do ask that young children are supervised at all times.
If a child is under 12, you can use our People with young children entrance and request a contact detail band to write your contact details on a wristband for the child, in case they get lost.
Please note that whilst every effort is made to keep language on the Main Stage as clean as possible before 5pm after this time it is only suitable for over 15’s.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes you can bring personal supplies of food and soft drinks in sealed (unopened) containers. Due to licensing restrictions alcoholic drinks cannot be brought on to the site although we offer a reasonably priced bar service. We perform checks on entrance to the site and reserve the right to confiscate any bottles we consider to contain alcohol or drugs.
Water refills are available on site, just ask our team members.
What can't I bring into Pride?
We’re committed to providing a safe, fun and welcoming space for everyone. To help keep the event safe, bag searches will take place at all entrances.
The following items are prohibited.
Weapons such as firearms of any kind, knives (incl. pocket knives, switchblades, etc), mace and pepper spray, tasers and stun guns, fireworks and any other item that could be used as a weapon.
Anything in glass containers.
Liquids including liquid fuels, liquid in unsealed or sealed containers that is not obviously for consumption, alcohol, aerosols, spray paint, deodorant, hairspray (in large containers) and other aerosol cans, air horns etc.
Illegal substances including drugs without a valid prescription or Cancard, controlled substances, non-prescription drugs.
I would like to perform, when do you open bookings?
We typically open bookings for our stages in February. Please subscribe to our mailing list and social media to ensure you get informed when they open.
How does my company or organisation sponsor Reading Pride?
We are always interested in meeting potential new sponsors and supporters. Whilst we require significant financial support, we are always open to local businesses who can offer their products of services for free or at a heavily discounted rate.

Does filming and photography take place on Pride?
Please be aware that photography and videography will be taking place. Images and footage may be used for promotional materials, social media, and event documentation. If you have any concerns or do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please speak to our photographers
How do I book a space for the market stall?
Our Marketplace is open for bookings between April and August, click here to learn more. Please sign up to our mailing list to ensure you are notified first when they are opened.
Are there any other Reading Pride events throughout the year?
