Reading Pride is run by unpaid volunteers and we need your help to make Pride happen! It's rewarding, exciting and important! Help make Reading Pride an event for the community and get those warm fuzzy feelings knowing you made it happen.
We've worked really hard to keep Pride a free event for everyone to attend (not just those who can afford it) but this means we rely on people to donate and we need more people collecting those donations for us.
Join The Team
Lead by the Chair the Trustees make the key charity decisions, provide direction and bear the legal/financial responsibilities. They are voted on by the members at a General Meeting.
Lead by the Chief Executive Officer run the charities day to day functions which includes a vast range of different skills and opportunities.
- Management Team
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officier provide the key support to the rest of the committee within each of their teams
- Marketing Team
Focus on the promotion side of the charity by building relationships with local media and advertising agencies, managing social media and generally growing the brand that defines it via the website and magazine.
- Operations Team
Focus on the physical side of pride, from sourcing bars stage etc to the building and talking down of the site.
- Funding Team
Focus on the generation of the income needed to fund Pride which is generated in a number of ways such as fundraising, sponsorship and grants.
- Community Team
Focus on the networking and relationships made with Reading Pride in the local community but also nationally.
Lead by team leaders Christina Dearlove and Kerry Kleis run the MyUmbrella LGBT+ project that focuses on raising awareness of the lesser known sexuality and gender identities through monthly socials and providing educational resources.
